I’m Michelle, the lead hairstylist and owner of Modest Medusa. As a licensed Hair Designer based in Snohomish, Washington, I specialize in blonding, vivid color, extensions, and wedding hair. With 10 years of experience in the wedding industry, I’m passionate about providing a personalized and customized experience for each client.
I truly love my craft!
I travel to all corners of the PNW and beyond (seriously, I’m always up for an adventure!).
While my favorite styles are soft and romantic, I’m always excited to take on alternative and edgy looks.
I have an eye for symmetry and balance, and I’m committed to bringing each client’s unique hair vision to life.

I’m YOUR stylist. When we book your trial, you get me. On the big day? Still me. (No team member trying to replicate your look—just the original.)
I also only book one event per day because you deserve my full attention! Neither of us should feel rushed, especially with an already packed timeline.
I pride myself on being transparent with my clients because I understand that not every hairstyle is right for every individual. I’ll offer my suggestions and work with you to ease any worries, ensuring we create a hair design that complements your attire, theme, and the weather.

Modest Medusa is non-discriminatory, all-inclusive, and an LGBTQIA+ ally, offering hairstyling services to everyone! I pride myself on truly getting to know my clients, and this personal connection has turned nearly a third of my wedding clients into regular salon clients. Clients often tell me that I’m not only friendly and calming, but also one of the best hype girls behind the scenes!

Michelle is truly incredible! She never fails to make my hair look gorgeous, and every appointment feels like a mix of therapy, dog talk, and nonstop laughter. I always feel completely at ease in her chair. My wedding hair was absolutely perfect, she brought my Pinterest inspo to life and made me feel stunning. But what meant even more was how she went above and beyond that day, dropping everything without hesitation to be by my side when I truly needed her. Modest Medusa (Michelle) was amazing!!! Finding someone who would travel for my wedding was difficult but Michelle was more than willing! Michelle did my hair beautifully! I would recommend Modest Medusa over and over again. I am so glad to have found her for my special day! Not only did she do my hair, but also my husbands. Michelle came prepared, even with "just in case" supplies like a crochet hook to button my dress with. Truly thinks of ALL the things for her clients on their special day.

Michelle was absolutely THE BEST!!!!! She is communicative, prompt, professional, and really kind and funny. It felt like a friend was getting me ready for my day, and my hair was the best it has ever looked. She executed the wedding look I wanted perfectly. I wanted a soft, low bun with soft face framing locks. I was really worried about my wedding hair because I have alopecia areata and lose quarter-sized patches of hair. I am self-conscious of my bald spots and many different stages of hair regrowth from past bald spots, and didn't want them showing. Michelle alleviated my worries, was so kind and caring towards me, and made me feel prettier than I ever had in my life.

Michelle was so wonderful from the very beginning! Scheduling a trial was easy, she was open to my ideas for hairstyles and was able to create her own version of exactly what I wanted! I was so happy to have a trial to see what we would do on the day of! For our wedding, my husband and bridesmaid and I all got our hair done day of, she was timely and so fun to talk to. We were all very impressed with her. I would highly recommend her for your bridal/hairstyling needs!

Must-have stylist!
Michelle was absolutely amazing to work with! She really took her time getting to know my wife (then-fiancé) and I, our styles, what we were looking for, etc. She was SO much fun to work with the day of and was incredibly helpful. I highly recommend her and would gladly work with her again.

Highly recommend!
I really loved working with Michelle for my July 2024 wedding! Well worth the price! She listened to what I wanted and executed it so well, even with my bridesmaids! I really loved that we did a consultation and got to try out a few options before the big day. I definitely recommend working with Michelle if you’re getting married in the Seattle area!
